The village of Anta, or Anta de Mazes, belongs to the parish of Lazarim, in Lamego. Today it is completely uninhabited, although many houses have been kept in a good state of repair. Indeed, and while it hasn’t been inhabited since the 1960s, livestock and fodder are still kept in the village, and some shepherds stay there overnight, though not permanently.
The majority of the houses have a very rustic appearance, and are made of stone (granite) with thatched roofsInside, fireplaces and ovens can be seen, and sometimes complete fittings.
