Marquis’ House

This is the house where the family of the Marquis of Vila real lived, who were disgraced for their involvement in the plot against King João IV in 1641. The battlements and twin windows in the Manueline style are still preserved. Located on Avenida Carvalho Araújo, which marks the centre of the city, the Marquis’ House is an imposing building that arouses a lot of curiosity.
